A commitment to work together to promote responsible housing, to the benefit of Euroepan societies
On the 6th of October - marking the International Tenants' Day and the 2014 EHRIN Awards Ceremony- the European Declaration on Responsible Housing was signed by Housing Europe, the International Union of Tenants, Delphis, the City of Vienna, Confederation Nationale du Logement, COFACE (the Confederation of Family Organisations in the European Union), Deutscher Mieterbund e.V., Lejernes Lands Organisation, Nederlandse Woonbond, RICS (the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), and SOLIDAR.
The Declaration marks their commitment to work together to promote Corporate Social Responsibility in the social and affordable housing sector, for the purpose of maximizing benefits to society.

Signing, the Declaration, Housing Minister Michael Groschek stated that 'The statements made correspond in many points already today with the policy objectives in North Rhine-Westphalia. We need a socially balanced housing policy to provide people also in the future with sufficient affordable and quality accommodation, especially in booming urban areas. Therefore I call upon the housing providers to join the ambitions of this Declaration.'
